Race Winner:
| Under NDA government | Under UPA rule |

India achieved the status of a fearless nuclear power. India, under able guidance of Mr. A.B. Vajpayee, successfully conducted Pokhran-II sending clear messages to the world that imposing sanctions for peaceful nuclear tests is not an answer for retarding India's willingness for achieving nuclear power status. This ultimately resulted in lifting of all such sanctions. |
India now lives under the awe of USA.India now, after the hyped Indo-US nuclear agreements, lives under the awe of USA. Since then, multiple instances of weak leadership and dependence (such as roping in the FBI for investigation of 26/11 attacks in Mumbai - where it is claimed that FBI tried and removed evidences of Pakistani connection of the terrorists) have surfaced to the shame of Indian identity. |
Crime was strongly dealt with. |
Instead of uprooting crime, politics and Politian now go hand in hand with criminals, with the latter often gaining supremacy. Several MPs, who are now ministers, hold dirty criminal records. CBI is now used as weapon for appeasement of supporting parties. The trend of CBI dropping or picking up cases (or else putting up a weak or a strong notion) in the court can be clearly connected with the fact that who is supporting UPA and who's opposing it. |
24 parties were united peacefully under the banner of NDA. The government was stable and unrestrained as the parties were together with a common ideology. |
UPA is continuously breaking down and the coalition remains unstable. It is mainly held together because it wants to remain in power. This is more than clear if one analyzes how UPA betrayed democratic principles twice.
Firstly, when the communists withdrew their support from the coalition (because of their anti-US anti-Capitalistic pro-China stand) then the Congress went around the house begging for support, stooping low - just to remain in power.
Secondly, now, when the elections are near, all the factions of UPA are back to dirty political games, throwing dirt at each other, not continuing as a pre-poll alliance in the elections and fighting over seat-sharing.This strongly suggests that they are together for greed of power, not an ideology. |
Several schemes were started - which were targeted on the economically weaker sections - not on caste or creed. |
Minorities are considered nothing more than vote banks. |
India's importance in the world's economy was increased. India gained double-digit growth rates (only Chinese have it at present). Rupee was strengthened to a degree more than ever. Economy was liberalized, yet safe-guarded by any economic breakdown overseas. |
India is now nothing but a tail of western nations. Government unnecessarily (possibly under foreign pressures) granted bail-out packages to companies and (foreign private-sector) banks. A continuously weakening rupee and changes in foreign policies of our so-called friend-nations (i.e. US and UK) to restrict eligible Indians from gaining a job in their territories go unheeded under the UPA government. |
Three states: Uttarakhand, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh were created to cater to the special needs of hilly area and the tribal populations. |
Separatism is being promoted.Naxalism has achieved highest ever proportions. They are trying to breakdown the nation and violate the constitutional rights of its people. Maharashtra's Congress government is still unable to control the trouble makers who call themselves Maharashtra Nav-nirman Sena. |
Inflation was unheard of. Food prices were stable through the years - even those with less than average monsoonal rainfalls. Even during war-like conditions of Kargil, inflation couldn't take the command of economy. |
Food prices are shooting up uncontrolled. Even the prices of other common and primary commodities are rocketing towards unknown. Inflation and its aftermaths are talk of the day. Recently, ~0.4% rates of inflation are being heard. It's a blatant attempt to play with figures. Firstly it's according to the wholesale prices, not retail prices. Secondly, it is in comparison to last year, which was even higher - consequently this number calculates to be so small. Thirdly, the pulling down factors in this number are majorly secondary goods. Primary goods like food items, cooking oil etc. are at present even higher than those last year. |
Petroleum prices were controlled. Availability of clean fuel was ensured. Renewable energy sources were explored and given impetus. |
Petroleum prices are also going up. Even after the lowering international crude oil prices, the retail prices of petroleum remain high. The tax rates on imported petroleum are an unexplainable and strange phenomenon as it is government only which has to pay subsidies later. There remains a constant shortage of cooking gas throughout the country. Renewable energy sources are being ignored in favor of much more polluting alternatives. |
To manage floods and droughts, after much research, a project for linking all major rivers was undertaken. An ambitious project of joining the four major metropolitan cities with each other through a modern multi-lane expressway was undertaken under the name, “The Golden Quadrilateral.” |
Now, it is cold bag and India continues to face the floods and drought. There are no efforts in this field. The pace of the project is now equal to that of a dead. Congress lacks the feeling of joining up India into one and building a strong infrastructure to improve the economy (why not donate the money directly to foreign companies instead). |
It was arranged that the dead bodies of Indian soldiers who martyred for the tricolor are returned safely to their native homes. The Kargil invasion was dealt with successfully. |
Earlier, instead of sending the body, only the information of martyrdom the soldier was sent, and it has been congress all through since independence. |
To tackle with terrorism, a strong law, under the name of POTA, was passed in the parliament. |
For reasons unknown, this law was scraped by the UPA government as soon as it came to power. An alternative law, TADA was imposed (causing much pain to the Judiciary). It is comparatively much softer and unreliable.
Even the guilty of attack on the parliament of India haven't been punished. |
The centre of government was PM house. The power remained where the people vested it, not in the hands of some puppet. |
Today the centre of power is undoubtedly 10, Janpat - Mrs. Sonia Gandhi's residence. Faithful following of the Gandhi family now find the comfort of titular positions, draining the government treasury of hard-earned people money. |
All states were treated equally. |
States not ruled by Congress are being given a step-motherly treatment. |
The party itself is completely free from nepotism. Younger generations have always made their way into the top brass of the party by hard work and true dedication to the country. |
The party has been ruled under the dictatorship of a single family - for almost five decades now. Moreover, a the newest heir of this family (who is clearly not a deserving candidate otherwise) is being (falsely) projected as the future PM of this nation and a messiah of Indian youth, with no experience what so ever. |
